Self Funded Endoscopy

Patients who don’t have health insurance or a current policy that covers gastrointestinal endoscopy can pay for the procedure themselves. Currently this costs approximately $2400 at the local hospital/facility.

Some of the specialists at Gastroenterology Associates Miranda office offer gastroscopy/colonoscopy at Sutherland Hospital and St George public hospital which is completely funded by the NSW State Government. There is no cost to the patient for the procedures, but the usual office consultation fees apply. If a completely government funded (no cost to patient) consultation is required-this can be done at

Following the procedure, a printed report of the findings is given to the patient. Some doctors will discuss the findings and further recommendations at the hospital/day facility. Other doctors will phone the patient the next day. Subsequent consultation at the office of Gastroenterology Associates Miranda may be suggested or requested depending on the findings and requirements of the patient or doctor.
