Jason Behary

Dr Behary is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a special interest in general gastroenterology, liver disease, as well as gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Behary graduated from the University of Sydney with Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2010 and completed his training in Gastroenterology in 2017. In 2021, His PhD thesis won the prestigious Dean’s Award (UNSW) and led to multiple landmark publications in liver diseases and cancer. Dr Behary is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW, who is actively involved in education and training of medical students and specialist trainees across NSW.

Dr Behary is a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at St George Public Hospital where he also serves the role of Co-Director of Physician Education (DPE).

Patients who don’t have health insurance or a current policy that covers gastrointestinal endoscopy can pay for the procedure themselves. (Medicare will cover some of the doctor's fees.
